Virtual reality guides science lesson

Student peering through virtual reality viewer delighted by what she sees

Sixth-graders at 91¸£Àûµ¼º½ International Academy ambled through organelles and meandered through mitochondria during their Wednesday science lesson about plant and animal cells.

How did they do it? Using new virtual-reality viewers with guidance from teacher Kristen Backes and tech coach Terrance McNally. Students peered through the high-tech goggles strapped onto their heads and experienced the 3-D sensation of walking through different parts of a cell.

Students then wrote about their observations. More VR experiences to come!
