The City School District of 91¸£Àûµ¼º½ was notified Friday of seven new confirmed cases of COVID-19.
The first two cases are associated with 91¸£Àûµ¼º½ High School. In one case involving the junior class, the individual was last in the building Sept. 15 and is quarantined at home. In a case involving the senior class, the individual was last in the building Sept. 13 and is quarantined at home. The 91¸£Àûµ¼º½ County Health Department has identified no additional contacts with either case.
The third case involves a fifth-grade classroom at 91¸£Àûµ¼º½ School of Humanities (ASH). The individual was last in the building on Sept. 13 and is quarantined at home. The health department has identified three additional contacts with the case. These individuals also are quarantined at home.
The fourth case involves a kindergarten classroom in the Dual Language Program at 50 North Lark St. The individual was last in the building on Sept. 16 and is quarantined at home. The health department has identified six additional contacts with this case. These individuals also are quarantined at home.
The fifth case involves a kindergarten classroom at Philip J. Schuyler Achievement Academy. This individual was last in the building on Sept. 15 and is quarantined at home. All 18 individuals in the affected classroom have been identified as contacts and are quarantined at home.
The sixth case involves the seventh grade at Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School. This individual was last in the building Sept. 8 and is quarantined at home. The health department has identified no additional contacts with this case.
The seventh case involves the sixth grade at William S. Hackett Middle School. This individual was last in the building Sept. 13 and is quarantined at home. The health department has identified two additional contacts with this case. These individuals also are quarantined at home.
Health and safety procedures at all district buildings continue to include cleaning and sanitizing nightly. We will continue with these procedures, and also will continue to follow all required COVID-19 precautions (wearing masks inside all district buildings, hand hygiene, social distancing of 3 feet or more in all classrooms, and other precautions).
We also would like to remind everyone of steps you can take to help be safe:
- Maintain social distance at all times from those you don’t live with.
- Always wear a mask that covers both the mouth and nose when inside at school or when your student is riding a bus to or from school.
- Wash hands with soap and water frequently when out of your home. If you cannot use soap and water, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
- Don’t touch the eyes, nose or mouth unless your hands are clean.
- DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL WHEN THEY ARE SICK OR HAVE SYMPTOMS:
- Signs of COVID-19 are: fever, fatigue/tiredness, muscle/body aches or pains, congestion, cough, runny nose, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, nausea/vomiting or diarrhea, headache, loss of taste or smell, rash, feeling sick or unwell in any way.
