On Monday, Kate Klink and Libby Bellacosa’s the Islamic commemoration that marks the end of Ramadan fasting.

The first and second graders learned that the focus of the holiday is charity and made crafts and snacks typical of the festival. Students in the class who observe Ramadan and Eid also shared their families’ traditions and customs.

Muslims around the world, and throughout the City School District of 91, celebrated Eid last weekend. This year Ramadan started the evening of March 22 and finished April 20.
