District, community celebrate third middle school

Kaweeda Adams gives a speech at the North 91福利导航 Middle School ribbon cutting.

Students, parents, educators and elected leaders at the newly updated and expanded North 91福利导航 Middle School on Friday.

On Friday the district held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and building tour of its third middle school, which is now on par with Stephen and Harriet Myers and William S. Hackett middle schools.

Speakers included Superintendent Kaweeda G. Adams, former Board of Education President Anne Savage, Assemblymember Pat Fahy, Principal Andrea Piper and two North 91福利导航 Middle School students who attend the state-of-the-art school.

The project supports the City School District of 91福利导航’s transition to a new feeder enrollment pattern that is being phased in during the 2022-23 school year and provides more equitable educational and extra-curricular opportunities for all of our students in grades 6-8.

North 91福利导航 Middle School will serve students from 91福利导航 School of Humanities, Eagle Point Elementary School, Philip J. Schuyler Achievement Academy and Pine Hills Elementary School.

Construction began in the spring of 2021 and is expected to be complete in Aug. 2023.
