Dec. 6 COVID-19 cases

The City School District of 91福利导航 was notified Monday of 10 new confirmed cases of COVID-19. The individuals and their unvaccinated contacts are quarantining at home.

The first three cases involve 91福利导航 High School:

  • The first individual was last in school Dec. 2, and the 91福利导航 County Health Department identified no additional contacts with the case.
  • The second individual is associated with 12th grade and was last in school Nov. 30. The health department identified seven additional contacts with the case; of those, five are vaccinated and do not require quarantine.
  • The third individual is associated with ninth grade and was last in school Nov. 19. The health department identified 16 additional contacts with the case; of those, 11 are vaccinated and do not require quarantine.

The fourth case involves kindergarten at Arbor Hill Elementary School, and the individual was last in school Nov. 22. The health department identified no additional contacts with the case.

The fifth case involves kindergarten at Eagle Point Elementary School, and the individual was last in school Dec. 1. The health department identified 10 additional contacts with the case; of those, three are vaccinated and do not require quarantine.

The sixth case involves kindergarten-first grade at Montessori Magnet School, and the individual was last in school Dec. 3. The health department identified 12 additional contacts with the case; of those, seven are vaccinated and do not require quarantine.

The seventh and eighth cases involve Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School. The seventh individual is associated with eighth grade and was last in school Dec. 3. The health department has identified six additional contacts with the case; all are vaccinated and do not require quarantine. The eighth individual is associated with sixth grade and was last in school Dec. 1. The health department identified four additional contacts; of those, none are vaccinated and all must quarantine.

The ninth case involves kindergarten at Thomas O’Brien Academy of Science and Technology (TOAST). The individual was last in school Dec. 1, and the health department identified no additional contacts with the case.

Monday’s 10th and final case involves Tony Clement Center for Education. The individual was last in school on Dec. 2, and the health department identified no additional contacts with the case.

Health and safety procedures at all district buildings continue to include cleaning and sanitizing. We will continue with these procedures, and also will continue to follow all required COVID-19 precautions (wearing masks inside all district buildings, hand hygiene, social distancing of 3 feet or more in all classrooms, and other precautions).

We also would like to remind everyone of steps you can take to help be safe:

  1. Maintain social distance at all times from those you don’t live with.
  2. Always wear a mask that covers both the mouth and nose when inside at school or when your student is riding a bus to or from school.
  3. Wash hands with soap and water frequently when out of your home. If you cannot use soap and water, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  4. Don’t touch the eyes, nose or mouth unless your hands are clean.
  5. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL WHEN THEY ARE SICK OR HAVE SYMPTOMS:
  • Signs of COVID-19 are: fever, fatigue/tiredness, muscle/body aches or pains, congestion, cough, runny nose, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, nausea/vomiting or diarrhea, headache, loss of taste or smell, rash, feeling sick or unwell in any way.
